Total Viewed Words

The overall number of words the player has been exposed to in the game in the last 30 days.

Sky Village is a world filled with words for your child to consume. These occur as conversations between characters, great stories of adventure and valor (we call them, Wizard’s Tales), special instructions to comprehend and act on, and descriptions of objects, tools and toys.

Some words are ones your child has to engage with to form sentences.

We track the number of all these words your child has been exposed to, is engaging with, and present it to you in the Sky Village Parent Report.

Number of Sight Words Introduced to

The number of sight words this player has been introduced to and taught since game start.

During Spell learning activities, the player is trained on sight words. The activity reviews how the word sounds, the definition, and examples of the word used in a sentence. The player then practices using the word correctly in a sentence.

What are Sight Words?

In English, there are sight words as well as Concrete words. Those words you can experience with your senses (see, hear, feel, touch, taste, smell) are considered concrete words - for example: tree, whistle, ball, house, lemon. All other words and symbols are abstract - they lack any concrete 3-D, physical association to give them meaning. Some examples of sight words include "you," "is," and "the." Some examples of abstract symbols include exclamation points, question marks, and numbers. The source of most interrupter disability reading symptoms for young readers are sight words.

The Sky Village – Trail of Spells digital app is a new and unique edutainment game that plays on Apple and Android mobile devices, and therefore is available to the learner to play anywhere, any time. Sky Village – Trail of Spells teaches the 3-D dyslexic learner in their learning style. This edutainment game uses a proven reading methodology to provide the look, sound and meaning of Sight abstract words and symbols for the 3-D dyslexic learner to experience while having fun playing an adventure game.

Glossary Usage Pattern

The frequency of glossary usage in short story reading activities, called Wizard’s Tales, in the last 30 days.

The world of Sky Village is embedded with extraordinary stories of adventure and valor, called Wizard’s Tales. These are reading experiences that the child uncovers as they unlock the secrets of the mysterious village.

To aid in smooth reading, your child may access a glossary of the more difficult words to have their meaning read out to them.

We track the usage of the Glossary by your child, and present it to you in the Sky Village Parent Report.

Hint Button Usage Pattern

The frequency of hint button usage in sight word learning activities over the past 30 days.

Sight words training is a key feature of Sky Village. Some sight words and their usage in sentences often prove tricky to new readers. We therefore provide Hint Buttons to help the young learner.

What you see here in the chart are the number of times your reader used the hint button tracked across days.

Do not be surprised to see them use the hint button lesser as time progresses. This could be a reflection of their gaining confidence in reading.

Text to Speech Usage Pattern

The frequency of Read-Out button usage in the last 30 days.

Sky Village is equipped with a text to speech button. This feature utilizes text-to-speech technology and allows the player to hear written text spoken in a generic voice.

Players can access this feature anytime the yellow Read-Out button is displayed in the game.

This allows the budding readers to manage any tough spot and stay engaged as they read through the fun dialog, stories, notifications and instructions they encounter during their adventures in mysterious Sky Village.

What you see here in the chart are the number of times your reader used the text to speech button tracked across days.

Do not be surprised to see them use this button lesser as time progresses. This could be a reflection of their gaining confidence in reading.

Number of Word Skill Practice Sessions

The total number of times the player participates in word skill practice activities.

Word skill practice sessions engage the player in word puzzles that provide extra practice identifying correct letters, words, and sentences.

Word Skills practice sessions include activities such as, dyslexic locks (where the child must identify the sentence or phrase with the correct configuration of letter), flipper locks, (where the child must turn the letters the correct way), and clicker locks, (where the child must identify sight words in their proper orientation).

These sessions are built in seamlessly into the fabric of the reading adventure that is Sky Village – Trail of Spells.

The more your child does the activities, the more exposure they have to recognizing sight words, and comprehending reading material.
